BCSA GEAR has 50 years experience in design, manufacture and installation of turbo gearboxes. We design and manufacture high-speed turbo-gears used as interface between an electric engine and compressors.
Turbo gearbox between an electric motor / centrifugal compressor (1200 kW at 15000 rpm)
TU 400 type turbo gearbox on plain bearings. Power capacity 1,243 kW, Input speed 1,800 rpm, output speed 15,680 rpm. The gearbox is designed and manufactured by BCSA GEAR to drive a centrifugal compressor. The picture shows BCSA GEAR’s command of the instrumentation of this type of gearbox (displacement, vibration and temperature sensors) to the API 613 standard.
Gearbox between an electric motor / centrifugal compressor (5800 kW at 9200 rpm)
TU 560 type turbo gearbox on plain bearings. Power capacity 5,810 kW, Input speed 1,480 rpm, output speed 9 230 rpm. This gearbox is designed and manufactured by BCSA GEAR to drive centrifugal compressor. This turbo gearbox is installed at Qatar Gaz.
Gearbox between an electric motor / centrifugal compressor (2100 kW at 17300 rpm)
TU 500 type turbo gearbox on plain bearings. Power capacity 2,060 kW, Input speed 1,480 rpm, output speed 14,629 rpm. The gearbox with a ratio of over 9 is designed and manufactured by BCSA GEAR to drive a centrifugal compressor.
Gearbox between an electric motor / centrifugal compressor (2100 kW at 14600 rpm)
TU 280 type turbo gearbox on plain bearings. Power capacity 2,145 kW, Input speed 2,985 rpm. Output speed 17,342 rpm. The turbo gearbox is fitted with a driven pump to guarantee lubrication of the bearings in the event of a power cut. This turbo gearbox was designed and built by BCSA GEAR to drive a centrifugal gas compressor. This gearbox is installed at ABB Power Generation.
Gearbox between an electric motor / centrifugal compressor (1500 kW at 10900 rpm)
TU 360 type turbo gearbox on plain bearings. Power capacity 1,500 kW, Input speed 1,480 rpm, output speed 9,230 rpm. The turbo gearbox is designed and manufactured by BCSA GEAR to drive a centrifugal compressor. The turbo gearbox was designed-to-measure to be fitted in place of the existing original turbo gearbox.
Reduction gearbox between an electric motor / alternating compressor (620 kW at 370 rpm)
TU 500 type turbo gearbox on plain bearings. Power capacity 620 kW, Input speed 1,490 rpm, output speed 367 rpm. This turbo gearbox was designed and manufactured by BCSA GEAR to drive an alternating compressor in place of an appliance that is now obsolete. It is fitted with a driven pump and an ATEX temperature sensor. The lubrication system was also supplied by BCSA GEAR.
Gearbox between an electric motor / centrifugal compressor (500 kW at 13,100 rpm)
TU 190 type turbo gearbox on plain bearings. Power capacity 500 kW, Input speed 2,979 rpm, output speed 13,141 rpm. The turbo gearbox is designed and manufactured by BCSA GEAR to drive a centrifugal blower. It is fitted with a driven pump.
Gearbox between the turbine and the alternator (3560 kW at 12,100 rpm)
TU 320 type turbo reduction gearbox on plain bearings. Power capacity 3,564 kW, Input speed 12,150 rpm, output speed 3,888 rpm. The turbo gearbox is designed and manufactured by BCSA GEAR to drive a turbo-alternator. The turbo gearbox was designed to measure to be fitted in place of the existing original turbo gearbox.
